Biography:

Fabian Beilharz was born at October 27th, 1978. He graduated in 2005 at the University of Stuttgart with a diploma in mechanical engineering and a main subject in polymer science. Since 2006 he is a research assistance at the Insititut für Kunststofftechnik (IKT), University of Stuttgart. His main field of research is the thermoforming process.

Abstract:

”Art to Science –Controlling your Process“; T-Form Update

T-Form is a European collective research project financed by the 6th framework program of the EC. The project aims to create a new software tool for optimized thermoforming mould design incorporating a CAD/CAM and FEM module. The idea of T-Form and its realization will be presented in a theoretical part and a demonstration of the software at its current state of development. Several aspects like mould design criteria and thermoforming process simulation will be discussed.
